About CoPosts
We’re experimenting with Copost as a way for two authors to share the spotlight, showcase their contributions, and engage with more people. This limited-time experiment allows select accounts in Canada, Korea, and the US to send invites to Copost with another account.
At the end of this experiment, existing Copost may appear as posts on the initiating author's profile, and their followers' timelines. Coposts may appear as Reposts on the co-author's profile and on their followers' Timelines.

FAQs
What’s a CoPost?
A CoPost is a co-authored Post that’s posted simultaneously to both authors' profiles and their followers’ timelines. You’ll recognize a CoPost when you see two authors’ profile pictures and usernames in the header. CoPosts help authors share the spotlight, unlock opportunities for engaging new audiences, and enhance their established partnerships.
How do CoPosts work?
When two authors decide to CoPost, the first step is to finalize the content they’d like to share. We recommend using Direct Messages to collaborate.
Once the messaging is ready, one author creates the CoPost and initiates an invite to the co-author. When the co-author accepts the CoPost invitation, the CoPost immediately posts to each author’s profile and both of their followers’ timelines.
How do you draft a CoPost?
Open the Post composer. Add the co-authored messaging and tap the CoPost icon. Select a co-author from your follower list and tap Send invite.
Can a CoPost’s content be edited or adjusted after the invitation is sent?
CoPost content can’t be edited or adjusted after a CoPost invite is sent.
If you need to change a CoPost’s content after sending an invite, you can delete the CoPost and start again.
What happens after I send a CoPost invite?
After a CoPost invite is sent, the co-author can accept or decline the invitation.
If the CoPost is accepted by the co-author who received the invite, the CoPost posts to each author’s profile and both of their followers’ timelines.
If the CoPost invite is declined, the CoPost invite is deleted.
Who can you invite to CoPost with you?
You can send CoPost invites to people that follow you and have public accounts.
Can you CoPost with multiple people?
Since only two authors can appear on a CoPost’s header at once, you can only invite one co-author per CoPost.
You can send as many CoPost invites as you’d like.
How is a CoPost different from a Post?
While a Post has a single author, a CoPost has two authors (or author and co-author) that share ownership and audience. Other similarities and differences include:
repost: Anyone on X can repost a CoPost
quote: Anyone on X can quote a CoPost. Two authors can also quote together.
Pin: Only the CoPost author who sent the invite can pin the CoPost to their profile.
Threads: Only the first Post in a thread can be a CoPost
Links, Polls and media: Like standard Posts, CoPosts can include Polls, gifs, photos, videos, and links to Communities, and Spaces.
Promotions: You cannot promote a CoPost
Conversation controls and author moderated replies: The CoPost author who sent the invite can manage these.
Can I share a CoPost in a limited group like X Circle or Super Follows?
CoPosts can’t be shared in X Circle, Communities or Super Follows-only Posts.
Can hosts pin a CoPost to their Spaces?
Spaces hosts can pin a CoPost to their Spaces if they are the author who initiated the CoPost.
Can I block CoPost invitations if I don’t want to receive them?
You can block any account from sending you a CoPost request by using X’s block feature. Blocking an account stops it from interacting with you on X in any way, including sending CoPost invites.
What if I no longer want my username displayed on a CoPost?
CoPost author who sends the CoPost invite:
If you’re the author who initiated the CoPost, you can delete the CoPost like any other Post.
Co-authors
If you received and accepted a CoPost invitation and later change your mind about wanting to be a co-author of that CoPost, you can revoke the CoPost once it’s published via a new field in the Post menu. The CoPost will become a regular Post by the original author.
Revoking the CoPost will:
Remove your username from a CoPost after it’s published.
Remove the CoPost from your profile.
Remove the CoPost from your followers’ timelines.
Revoking the CoPost will not:
Keep the Post from appearing (without your username) on the profile or followers' timelines of the author who initiated the CoPost invite.
What happens to a CoPost if the author or co-author deactivates or protects their account?
If the CoPost author who sent the initial invite deactivates their account, the CoPost will disappear from both authors’ profiles.
If the CoPost co-author who accepted the initial invite deactivates their account, the co-author’s username will be removed from the CoPost header, and the CoPost will become a Post.
If the CoPost author who sent the initial invite protects their account, only the followers of the CoPost author will still see the CoPost.
If the CoPost co-author who accepted the initial invite protects their account, the CoPost remains as is.
Where do I find CoPost invitations sent to me?
If someone invites you to co-author a Post, you’ll receive a DM and a notification that you were invited to CoPost. At this time invitations don't expire.
What happens after I send someone an invitation to CoPost?
The CoPost author will receive a notification when their invite was accepted or declined and published or deleted.
