How to share a Post to WhatsApp

We’re currently testing sharing posts to WhatsApp on X for Android. We know people share posts on other social media apps, and we’re exploring how to make it easier for people to share posts to WhatsApp.

Note: Please be aware that X content shared and posted to WhatsApp may not reflect the current state of the content on X and will be governed by WhatsApp’s policies and rules. For more detail on their policies, please visit the WhatsApp Help Center.

How to share a Post to WhatsApp
Step 1

Tap the share icon  on a public Post.
Note: A protected Post cannot be shared.

Step 2

Tap WhatsApp from the share menu.

Step 3

If you’re signed into WhatsApp on your device, your X app will close, and WhatsApp will open.

Step 4

The Post you want to share becomes a screenshot to share through WhatsApp. 

Step 5

You can share the Post with a single person or a group in a message. From there, they can tap the URL of the Post screenshot to go to X and join the conversation.
