How to share a Post

Sharing a post privately is easy. You have the option to share via Direct Message with your followers, or through an SMS or email to your contacts from your phone’s address book.

To share a Post via Direct Message

Step 1

Tap on the share icon from a Post on your Home timeline or from a Post detail.
Note: A protected Post cannot be shared through a Direct Message.

Step 2

Choose a recipient from the quick-share list of the accounts you most frequently message with. Or tap the Search for people and groups option to type in the account(s) you wish to send a message to.

Step 3

You have the option to Add a comment to your message.

Step 4

Tap Send.

Step 1

Tap on the share icon from a Post on your Home timeline or from a Post detail.
Note: A protected Post cannot be shared through a Direct Message.

Step 2

Tap Send via Direct Message from the menu.

Step 3

Select an account from the suggested list, or tap the Search for people and groups text box to type in the account(s) you wish to send a message to.

Step 4

You have the option to Add a note to your message.

Step 5

Tap Send.

Step 1

Click on the share icon from a Post on your Home timeline or from a Post detail.
Note: A protected Post cannot be shared through a Direct Message.

Step 2

Select Send via Direct Message.

Step 3

From the pop-up menu, Enter a name of the person you wish to send the message to or choose from the suggested account list.

Step 4

You have the option to Add a comment to your message.

Step 5

Click Send.

Note: Your own posts on your profile page will not display the share icon. Click the icon on the bottom right to send one of your posts via Direct Message from your profile. Learn more about Direct Messages.

To share a Post via SMS or email

Step 1

Tap the share icon from a Post on your Home timeline or from a Post detail.

Step 2

From the pop-up menu, select Share Post via…

Step 3

To send via SMS, select your SMS application and add the contacts you wish to send the Post to.

Step 4

To send via email, select your email client and enter the email address(es) of the people you wish to email the Post to.

Step 5

You can choose to add a comment to the SMS or email.

Step 6

Tap Send.

From the pop-up menu, select Share Post via…

To send via SMS, select your SMS application and add the contacts you wish to send the Post to.

To send via email, select your email client and enter the email address(es) of the people you wish to email the Post to.

You can choose to add a comment to the SMS or email.

Step 6

Tap Send.

Step 1

Click the icon located within the Post.

Step 2

From the pop-up menu, select Copy link to Post.

Step 3

The URL will be copied to your clipboard.

Step 4

Once you have opened your email client, you can paste the URL into the email you compose.
