How to approve or deny follower requests

To approve or deny a follower request

Step 1

In the top menu, tap your profile icon.

Step 2

Tap Follower requests.

Step 3

You’ll see a list of all follower requests.

Step 4

Tap the checkmark to approve the request, or tap the X to deny it.

In the top menu, you will either see a navigation menu icon or your profile icon. Tap whichever icon you have.

Tap Follower requests.

You’ll see a list of all follower requests.

Tap the checkmark to approve the request, or tap the X to deny it.

On the top left menu nav, go to the more icon.

Step 2

Navigate to Follower requests, located at the top of the menu list.

Step 3

Then click or tap Follower requests to view the people who have requested to follow you.

Step 4

Click or tap Accept or Decline.

Note: Accounts with public posts will never be asked to approve a follower request. Approving follow requests can also be done on mobile.x.com.

You may have public posts. Protect your posts in order to control who follows you. You can do this by adjusting your Privacy and safety settings.
People with public posts do not have the option to approve followers. If you previously had protected posts, any pending follower requests will not be accepted automatically. Those people will need to follow you again.
You may not have any follower requests. When there are zero requests, the notification message disappears completely from your profile.
If you received an email notifying you of a new follower pending approval, but do not see that request in your pending requests, it's likely that the person decided to cancel the request after sending it.
